ITINERARY (For reference only and is subject to any necessary changes in accordance to local requirements)
DAY 1 ARRIVAL - PENANG (DINNER)
Arrive at Penang Airport, meet & greet our representative then transfer to selected hotel for check in then free at own leisure. In the evening, tucked away on top of Penang Hill lies a distant rumour of a long forgotten garden - David Brown's at Strawberry Hill, a quintessential British colonial restaurant. Amidst the lush greenery, this 'hill upon a hill' restaurant standing on Strawberry Hill provides the perfect setting for meaningful memories. The well-manicured garden with iconic Lily pond, the restaurant also furnished with comfortable old wood furnishing of a past elegance. Enjoy the spectacular night view and cool atmosphere surrounding the hill. Overnight at hotel. (Note : Tour will be replaced with dinner at the Revolving Restaurant in Georgetown when the funicular trains is not in operation.)
DAY 2 PENANG FULL DAY TOUR (BREAKFAST)
Morning Session : City & Heritage Tour
After breakfast, take a drive through historical Georgetown visiting amongst others, the prominent buildings of colonial era. Stop at Fort Cornwallis that once belonged to the English East India Co. Next, visit the State Museum built in 1821 which showcase a fine collection of antiques and other historical relics showcasing Penang's culture and heritage throughout the years. Enjoy an authentic trishaw ride through the heart of Georgetown and be fascinated by its charm from old colonial architectures to modern skyscrapers of bustling Chinatown and colorful Little India. Stop at one of the most magnificent clan house, Khoo Kong Si, the building features intricate carvings and wood work bearing the mark of the master craftsmen from China. Lastly, visit the majestically Thai Buddhist Temple, Wat Chayamangkalaram, which houses one of the largest Reclining Buddha in the world.
Afternoon Session : Hill & Temple Tour
Visit the Kek Lok Si Temple, known as the temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas beautiful and largest Buddhist Temples in South-East Asia. Suspended against a hill slope, this unique seven tiers Pagoda which stands 30 meters tall is a mixture of Chinese, Thai, and Burmese architectures and craftsmanship. A not to be missed view, the 30 meters tall bronze statue of the Goddes of Mercy (Kuan Yin) and the unique and sacred "Pond of Longevity", home to hundred of tortoises set free by devotees. Ascend the Penang Hill and Bukit Bendera via the funicular train up to 800 meters above sea level. Along the way, rich collection of flora and fauna can also be seen. Also known as the oldest hill station in Malaysia. It is certainly the only one of its kind in South-East Asia. (Note : If Penang Hill funicular train is not in operation, we will replace with the Komtar Scenic View observation deck rivals similar stratospheric attractions around the world).
DAY 3 PENANG FULL DAY TOUR (BREAKFAST)
Morning Session : Round Island Discovery
After breakfast, explore Penang Island known to sailors and traders from all corners of the world as the "Pearl of the Orient" during the famous spice trade era. Drive along the famous stretch of Batu Feringghi Road and enjoy the panoramic view of the ocean. Start out to the Batik factory to see and learn the traditional techniques of producing this exquisite Malay textile using wax and dye. Passing by lush and green landscape of local fruit and spice plantations. We will stop at a fruit stall for an introduction to local fruits, nutmeg and cloves. Next, visit the Penang War Museum is located at Bukit Batu Maung on the South-East of Penang Island, was an original British military defence fortress built in the 1930s to protect the island from enemies in anticipation of World War 2. Visit the famous Snake Temple was originally named the "Temple of the Azure Cloud" in honor of the beauty of Penang sky, where pit vipers adorn the altars. On the way back, view Penang Bridge, one of the longest bridges.
Afternoon Session : Botanical Garden & Butterfly Farm Tour
A tour specially designed for nature lovers. Our first stop is the spectacular Penang Butterfly Farm. You'll surrounded by a myriad of flickering and flitting butterflies in this specially design natural environment. A sanctuary for over 120 species of rare and exotic tropical butterflies, also houses unique live tropical insects and small harmless reptiles including scorpions, frogs, and other species of insects. There is also a hatchery and a "Preserved Butterflies of the World" museum. Next, visit the century old, 72-acres Botanical Garden located at the foot of Penang Hill. This garden has been transformed from an old granite quarry site way back in 1884 into the present unique and lush greenery beautiful garden. Stroll through a rich collection of tropical flora and fauna. You will be greeted by long tail Macaque monkeys, who make these gardens their kingdom. If you're lucky, you can spot a ring eye monkey, who wears a pair of spectacles and going about shyly.
DAY 4 PENANG - DEPARTURE (BREAKFAST)
After breakfast, free at own leisure for the whole day until transfer time to Penang Airport to back home.
