The journey up north passes by quaint Malay villages, coconut plantations and fishing bays dotted with colorful fishing boats of all sizes. Along the way, see the livelihood of the locals, like the making of Bamboo-rice called ‘Lemang’, Fish crackers (Keropok) and salted fish.
At the Turtle Information Centre, one will get more information about the various species of turtles that frequents our Malaysian’s beaches to lay their eggs. Stop to see local handicrafts like wood-carving, batik-painting, brass-wares, weaving of pandanus leaves, brocade weaving and a Malaysian silk centre. In Kuala Trengganu, the state capital and royal town, brief stop for photograhy of the exterior view only of the Sultan’s palace, the China-town district and the ‘floating’ mosque.
