The route to Everest Base Camp (EBC) is probably the most famous mountain trek in the world. Every spring and autumn, the trail fill with awestruck trekkers who wind their way through friendly Sherpa villages on the Himalayan Range. Porters and Yaks ferrying equipment seem minute compared to the towering heights of amadablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and off course Mount Everest. Base camps sits astride glacial morraine beneath the unforgiving khumbu ice fall.

Kala Patthar, meaning ‘black rock’ in Nepali, is one of the attractive mountains to climb for anybody looking forward to begin their climbing experience in the Nepalese Himalayas. It appears as a big brown bump below the impressive south face of Pumori (7,161 m/23,494 ft). Many trekkers in the region of Mount Everest will attempt to summit Kala Patthar, since it provides the most accessible point to view Mt. Everest from base camp to peak (due to the structure of Everest, the peak cannot be seen from the base camp). The views from almost anywhere on Kala Patthar of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse are spectacular.
